Sheffield Wednesday are pleased to announce the launch of pioneering new Facebook integration to the official online shop.

The new features added this week allows fans to find where their friends are sitting within Hillsborough when buying tickets online at www.swfc.co.uk/tickets.

The Owls are the first UK football club to implement the new friend-finder technology, which complements the 40,000 supporters that follow the club's official Facebook page at facebook.com/sheffieldwednesday.

When browsing for seats via the online shop fans can now connect to their Facebook account in order to locate friends and buy available seats nearby.

In order to see where your friends are, all you need to do is click the 'Log in with Facebook' button and follow the steps to connect your account when on the 'Choose Seats' page for any home game.

The website will then tell you how many of your registered friends are attending the game and where they are sat within the stadium.

You can also choose to show your Facebook friends on the stadium map when browsing for available seats, allowing you to find seats nearby and join them for the big game.

Once your tickets are purchased the online shop will automatically update your Facebook wall with your seat details to encourage your friends to join you too!

Fans will need to log in to both the online shop and to Facebook (using the on-page button) in order to use the friend-finder, which will only show other friends who have connected to the service too.
