Owls team news
Team captain Richard Wood will undergo a late fitness test ahead of the clash with league leaders Birmingham after missing the midweek derby at Barnsley.
Striker Marcus Tudgay was substituted with a groin strain on Tuesday and is doubtful, as is Deon Burton with an ankle injury.
But winger Jermaine Johnson is available for selection having served his one-match ban following last Sunday's dismissal against Sheffield United.
Tony McMahon will serve the first game of a three-match ban in light of his red card at Oakwell. Fellow loanee Lewis Buxton is likely to retain his place in the starting line-up in place of the suspended right back.
Birmingham team news
Alex McLeish is hopeful that striker James McFadden (groin) and winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie (thigh) will be available after both players missed the midweek win over Crystal Palace.
Cameron Jerome was substituted against the Eagles as a precaution but should shake off his hamstring concern to start against the Owls.
McLeish has been boosted by the progress of full back David Murphy, who has almost recovered from a knee injury and could feature in the squad on Saturday.
New loan signing Nigel Quashie played his first game for the Blues on Tuesday, coming on as a late substitute. The West Ham man had been sidelined since March 2007 with a foot injury and could be included again this weekend.
