The Irish youngster arrived at Hillsborough after a successful trial in the autumn of 2005 and has since progressed well, representing Northern Ireland in the European Youth Championships. He stepped into the Owls ' first team set-up early in the 2006/07 campaign and also featured as a squad player in the following season.
Liam has developed into a steady performer who can slot in at right back or the centre of the rearguard and was offered a new one-year contract by Brian Laws in the summer of 2008.
