Sheffield Wednesday secured the services of Nicky Weaver on a one-year contract ahead of the 2010/11 season.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper joined on a free transfer and featured in the Owls' opening game of the campaign against Dagenham & Redbridge at Hillsborough.
Weaver is now into his second spell with Wednesday having enjoyed a successful loan stint at the club back in the 2005/06 campaign.
The Sheffielder and lifelong Wednesdayite has made a total of 307 senior starts in a career spanning 16 years. He holds the club record at former club Manchester City for the most clean sheets recorded in a season - 26 - achieved in 1998/99.
Weaver has proved a huge hit since joining his hometown club in the summer, testament to which has been recognition by the fans in winning the Player of the Month awards for September and October.
After a solid first season back at Hillsborough, Weaver signed a new two-year contract in April 2011 that will keep him at the club until summer 2013.
