Sheffield Wednesday Annual Golf Tournament 2008

Sheffield Wednesday are pleased to confirm details of the club's annual golf tournament, which will take place on Thursday 4 September at Lees Hall Golf Club, Sheffield and conclude with presentations and a three-course meal back at Hillsborough Stadium.
The tournament offers a unique opportunity for teams of three players to tee off and play alongside a member of the SWFC first team squad and compete in an 18-hole shotgun start.
Alternatively, players can compete in a team of four, with a three-quarter handicap allowance and a maximum of 24 handicap.
In addition to the 'world-class' golf to be played on the day, there will be competitions for 'Nearest the Pin' and 'Longest Drive'. A Carlsberg gift bag will also be provided on the day.
The golf starts at 2.00pm with tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches on arrival. Then, following the tournament, the day concludes with the evening presentations and three-course meal here at Hillsborough.
The price to participate in this exciting sporting event is priced at just £355 + VAT per team of four.
We also offer the opportunity to have your company logo printed on an A3 board displayed at one of the 18 holes. The 'Sponsor a Hole' board will be signed by the Wednesday players and manager then returned to you or your company. This fantastic and totally unique souvenir of the day is priced at £95 + VAT.

A Sportsman's Dinner with Paul Merson

Sheffield Wednesday FC are delighted to announce a Sporting Dinner with former Arsenal and England star Paul Merson, which will take place in the new Fores Lounge at Hillsborough Stadium on Wednesday 15th October.
The charismatic Merson, who is now a pundit on Sky Sports, had a memorable career making 423 appearances for Arsenal from 1985 -1997 picking up 99 goals and the 1998/99 PFA Young Player of the Year award. Merson went on to earn a host of honours including 2 League Championships, an FA and League Cup double in 1993 and a Cup Winners Cup medal in 1994. As well as this Merson played for both the England B and Under 21 teams, before gaining 21 professional England caps and grabbing himself 3 goals during his International career. Merson had a spell in charge at Walsall as player-manager.
Paul Merson is one of the most in-demand after-dinner speakers on the circuit, who famously battled alcohol, drug and gambling addictions so will have an interesting story or two to tell. This will be an evening for all football fans to savour.
The evening includes a champagne reception followed by a four-course dinner. The laughter won't stop though, as there will be a top comedian on the night to entertain you. Yorkshire-born Billy Pearce first came to national prominence when he appeared on talent show New Faces. He was quickly snapped up for stage and TV appearances, culminating with his first series for BBC television, You Gotta Be Joking.
In 1993 he was honoured to host The Children's Royal Variety Performance, and he was invited to appear in the same show a year later, which he then followed with the Royal Variety Performance.
There are few stages upon which Billy has not appeared. He has topped the bill at venues around the UK, he's also headlined many pantomimes, including breaking box office records at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford. Billy has also been appearing in the musicals Boogie Nights and The Rocky Horror Show, together with performing his fantastic live shows at venues around the country!
