PUBLISHED 10:35 21 July 2015 www.swfc.co.uk meets the club’s ticket office manager Alastair Wilson for an in-depth look at the popular Owls Membership in an easy Q&A style to give supporters a better understanding of the scheme. What is the Owls Membership? The scheme is what I would call the next best thing to a Season Ticket. Being an official Member gives supporters a discount on match tickets for home league matches along with priority on all home and away games, £5 worth of WednesdayCard points to spend on club merchandise (added up to 28 days after purchase) and the chance to collect redeemable TeamCard points for purchases made in the Owls Megastore. Who is applicable? All supporters can join. Memberships start from junior level from under 11s to under 17s, which offer fantastic value on matchday ticket prices for young Owls. Adults and Seniors can also purchase Memberships with similar savings and we also accommodate Full Time Students and Armed Forces in the scheme. What level of discount do Members receive on matchdays? For 2015/16 Adult, Senior and Junior Members receive our biggest ever discount of a £5 saving off the standard ticket price for all games except category G fixtures. Juniors start saving after their 3rd visit to Hillsborough whilst seniors and adults save after six visits. What about Students and Armed Forces? They qualify for concession prices for each home league game, which again represents excellent value not only on a matchday but over the course of the season. What priority do Members receive on home games? Generally we put home tickets on sale seven weeks before the respective fixture. The first two weeks of sale are specifically for Members so to offer a better choice of seats and guaranteed seat for each home game. And away games? Members receive second tier priority, which is next in line only to Season Ticket holders. What is paperless entry to the ground? Owls Members all receive a Members card which is similar to a Season Ticket. When supporters purchase tickets they have the option to upload the game to their card. When they get to the stadium they simply produce their card which is scanned in for entry. Supporters are advised to make a note of their seat details, which is on the booking confirmation so they know which seat they are in once in the Stadium. What is the £5 worth of WednesdayCard Points? All Members collect points when they purchase retail items in the Owls Megastore. £5 is loaded after 28 days which in effect is £5 discount of their first purchase in the Megastore. What are Wednesday Card/TeamCard points and how many can you earn? TeamCard points are similar to an in store discount, but rather than receive a discount there and then, supporters who use their Membership Card when purchasing retail items from the Megastore gain points for every £1 spent, which is equivalent to five per cent off. Members can use their points at any time during the season and against future purchases in store or on home match tickets or Season Tickets. For example, if a supporter has 1,000 points to redeem, they will receive £10 off the total price. Points run on a seasonal basis so Members should be aware they generally have until the end of May to redeem. During the season the Megastore offers numerous double and triple points events so keep your eyes peeled for them. Are there any other benefits? Junior Members receive additional perks such as a birthday wish in the official matchday programme during the month of their birthday and on the official SWFC Twitter page. Junior Owls also receive a Christmas card from the club as well as going into a prize a draw to become a mascot for home games and most away games. We have had some very happy Members who have enjoyed many memorable days here at Hillsborough and over the country! Other Members are also automatically entered into a quarterly prize draw which will see some great SWFC prizes won. So how much does it cost? Adults and Senior Memberships are priced at just £30, while Student and Armed Forces Memberships cost £25. Cheaper still, all Junior Memberships can be purchased for only £15. Do you sell Memberships throughout the season? Yes, even in April. Memberships run on a seasonal basis but supporters can still receive benefits even if just for the last couple of games. Obviously, there is a big uptake at the beginning of the season but we also see spikes at Christmas, for example, as Membership makes the perfect gift. Where can you buy Memberships? In store at the Ticket Office, online by CLICKING HERE or by telephone on 0871 900 1867.
