The Owls Under-18s registered their first win of the season on Saturday with a fine 4-1 win away at QPR.
In a game full of chances at QPR’s Harlington training complex, it was the Owls who edged in front after just four minutes when Jordan Lonchar prodded home from close range.
The hosts levelled through defender Leandro Ribeiro Mateus but Wednesday regained their lead moments before the half time break.
Wednesday’s high-pressing game put the R’s on the back foot and Lonchar did superbly well to intercept a loose back pass, before rounding the goalkeeper and tapping into the unguarded net.
Owls goalkeeper Joe Walker maintained the club’s one-goal lead with a fine penalty save after the break before goals from Alex Hunt and Marcello Benedetti made sure of the points
