18s make it back to back away wins

24 March 2021

The Owls Under-18s made it back to back away wins on Wednesday lunchtime at Coventry.

Fresh from his hat-trick at Ipswich last weekend, Bailey Cadamarteri was once again on the scoresheet, this time at the Alan Higgs Centre.

The youngster’s first half goal was ultimately enough to seal the win in a close-fought clash with the Sky Blues.

Wednesday went in at the break a goal to the good but it was harsh on the hosts who gave as good as they got in the first period.

But Coventry were made to pay for not converting their chances when a piece of quality from the visitors broke the deadlock 20 minutes into the contest.

Will Trueman pounced on a loose ball in midfield and found Paulo Aguas's darting run on the left who, after shrugging off a challenge, delivered an accurate ball for the unmarked Cadamarteri to head home six yards out.

Wednesday saw out the second period in the Midlands to bag a deserved three points.

After suffering a heavy defeat in the FA Youth Cup against Leicester at the beginning of the month, it has been a superb reaction since from the Owls academy side.

Wednesday have since drawn with Crewe at Middlewood Road (2-2) and picked up impressive wins on the road against Ipswich (1-5) and the Sky Blues.

Owls: Hare, Curtis, Glaves, Sesay (Yates 46), Zottos, Glover, Trueman, Aguas, Davidson (Al-Jahadhmy 66), Bonnington, Cadamarteri (Asfha 83)
