Wednesday returned over the Pennines from Crewe with a well-deserved 3-1 win having come coming from behind to take the points.
A sluggish start by the visitors saw the Alex hit the front inside five minutes but Wednesday regrouped to dominate the contest and emerge triumphant.
After Alex Higgins struck first, Will Trueman levelled on 22 minutes following excellent link-up play between Paulo Aquas and Luke Hall.
That gave the Owls the platform on which to build victory and they were in the ascendancy on the half-hour mark. Hall embarked on a driving run into the box and pulled back for Bailey Cadamateri to finish into the bottom corner.
Then, a minute before the break, Wednesday extended their lead when Basille Zottos delivered a looping cross that caused panic in the Crewe rearguard and Sean Lawton bungled into his own net.
The Owls controlled proceedings throughout the second half, limiting the hosts to speculative efforts from range.
Trueman and Zottos went close to adding to the haul but the first half damage inflicted proved enough.
Wednesday: J Hall, Davidson, Curtis, Yates, Aquas, Shipston (Ashfa 60), Glover, Trueman, L Hall (Sesay 80), Cadamatari, Zottos (Glaves 71)
