The Owls Under-18s resumed their league campaign with an impressive 2-1 win at Peterborough on Saturday.
First half goals from Bailey Cadamarteri and Josh Ashman sealed maximum points for Wednesday at the Posh’s Idverde Training Ground.
Our previous outing was almost one month ago when Andy Holdsworth’s side upset the odds to defeat Southampton in the third round of the FA Youth Cup in early December.
Despite the gap in the academy fixture schedule, the Wednesday youngsters soon found their groove and went ahead through a superbly taken Cadamarteri strike.
The forward latched on to a long punt upfield and lobbed on the onrushing keeper to put Wednesday a goal to the good.
Following a leveller from the hosts, Wednesday regained their one-goal advantage before the break through defender Josh Ashman, who rose high in the box to head home from a corner.
Our 18s will now turn their attention to the FA Youth Cup fourth round clash against Preston at Hillsborough.
The cup-tie takes place on Tuesday 18 January (7:00pm) and fans are welcome to come down and back the boys.
Prices are £3 adults, £1 concessions, with no charge for Season Ticket holders.
Owls: Hall, Fusire, Maltby, Ashman, Flannery, Kilheeney, Shipston, Asfha, Davidson (Wassell 70), Al-Jahadhmy, Cadamarteri
