The Owls Under-23s slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Peterborough on Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday made two changes from the side that picked up an impressive 4-2 win over league leaders Coventry last week at Middlewood Road.
From the clash with the Sky Blues, Alex Hunt was unavailable having joined Oldham on loan for the rest of the season, while Lewis Farmer also missed out. In place, two trialists were named in the Owls squad.
Returning Posh striker Ricky Jade-Jones netted the opener for the hosts at the Idverde Training Centre.
Second half substitute Johnson Gyamfi then sealed the win five minutes from time, sweeping the ball home beneath Luke Jackson from Joe Ward’s low centre.
Our Under-23s are next in action on Monday 7 February with a trip to Hull City at York’s LNER Stadium.
Owls: Jackson, Boateng, Agbontohoma, Thompson, Galvin, Waldock, Glover (Aguas 25), Trialist, Onen, Trialist (Bonnington 60), Hagan (Dawodu 70)
