Supporters battle it out for charity

Why just support your team this season when you can also give your backing to Owls and Blades fans, who will be battling it out for charity?

The Sheffield Fans Derby is a twice-yearly football game played between Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United fans in a bid to help for good causes in the city.

The next Fans Derby will kick-off at 7.30pm on Thursday18 October 2012 at the Don Valley Stadium in aid of Sophie’s Wish, which raises awareness and funds for brain tumour research.

In excess of £12,600 has been raised for local charities through the eight events held so far with the Wednesday team currently ahead by five victories to the United fans’ three.
