Dave Jones is eagerly anticipating the Owls’ trip to Huddersfield on Saturday as his side seek a fourth successive Championship win.
With victories over Barnsley, Charlton and Bolton under the belt, Wednesday take the short hop to the John Smith’s Stadium in pursuit of three more crucial points.
And Jones said: “We recently played a big derby at Barnsley so we know exactly what to expect from this game.
“There will be a bigger crowd that you get for a derby with a good atmosphere but we will be well supported too with our crowd from Sheffield.
“They have been magnificent this season and we will have another 4,000 there on Saturday.
“We will go there with confidence but we were never not confident in all the games we have played this season.
“We have never stopped believing and the players deserve all the credit for keeping their heads held high and getting the results we have over the last three games.
“They are a great group of players to work with.”
Victory for the Owls would be another step towards Championship survival and the manager insists Wednesday must stay focused on their own performances and not rely on results elsewhere.
All the teams ensconced in the battle against the drop have picked up points over the Christmas calendar, highlighting the fact that the Championship remains as unpredictable as ever.
Jones added: “The only predictable thing about the Championship is its unpredictability.
“It’s what I have been saying all season. The only thing I can guarantee is that the table at the moment will not be the same as the table at the end of the season.
“There have been some unpredictable results recently and it only goes to show that you cannot rely on anyone else in this division. You can only rely on yourselves.
“Anyone is capable of anyone on their day and that is what makes the Championship one of the most popular divisions in Europe.”
