Team news

Owls: Jay Bothroyd (ankle) looks set to miss out this weekend.

The striker picked up the ankle injury in Wednesday's recent clash with Watford.

The Owls will give late fitness tests to Mamady Sidibe and Anthony Gardner, who both have hamstring injuries.

Bristol City: The Robins have recorded just one win in their previous 14 games.

Louis Carey (calf) could be a doubt for City while Jon Stead (groin) is expected to miss the game.

Lewin Nyatanga (groin), Stephen McManus (strained ligaments) and Cole Skuse (fractured cheekbone) are also injury concerns for the Robins.

The game may come too soon for defender Greg Cunningham (ankle ligaments), who joined the club from Manchester City in the summer.

View from the dugout

Dave Jones: "We have to start turning our performances into wins. The only way we will do that is by everyone sticking together."

Derek McInnes: "Performances like ours in the defeat to Wolves leave you open to criticism about your formation and tactics - that is par for the course. We were poor defensively and we were out-muscled and out-fought a lot of times at the back. Playing with two strikers would not have helped that and it is something we must improve."
