Owls in the Park success

30 July 2012

Sheffield Wednesday would like to thank the thousands of supporters who came down on Sunday to make Owls in the Park such a great success.

A staggering 12,000 fans flocked to Hillsborough Park taking their first opportunity to meet Dave Jones’ new recruits as well as posing for photographs with their favourite Owls stars.

There were a host of other activities to keep the crowds entertained throughout the day including a live music stage, a huge screen showing season highlights and a family funfair.

The SWFC community programme's inflatable pitch, face painting, penalty shootouts and speed gun tests also went down a treat with young Owls on the day.

And with Ozzie and Barney in attendance to meet the kids and the addition of real-life Owls available for photo opportunities, it certainly made for a fun-filled day in the Park!

Chairman Milan Mandaric met many of the fans and was delighted with the turnout.

He said: "It was very exciting for me to see such incredible support and the entire Sheffield Wednesday family enjoying what turned out to be a very special day.

“I am also delighted from a club point of view that we were able to host such a wonderful occasion.”

Sheffield Wednesday would, once again, like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended.
