Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has returned to his parent club following his loan spell with the Owls.
The teenager initially joined Wednesday in mid-September and saw his temporary move extended by a further 28 days.
Barkley has now been taken back to Goodison Park by Everton, whose midfield options have been depleted through injury.
The Liverpool product made 13 appearances for the Owls, scoring four goals.
Sheffield Wednesday would like to thank Barkley for his services and wish him well for the future.
