Sheffield Wednesday fans are invited to attend a Celebration of Sport service hosted by club chaplain Reverend Peter Allen.
The event will be held at Sheffield Cathedral on Monday 12 November from 7.30pm and will include a talk from Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones about the Feelgood Factor of Sport.
A number of clubs and organisations will be represented including Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Sheffield Sharks and Sheffield Steelers along with the Sheffield and Hallamshire County Football Association.
He said: “In my role as Chaplain for Sport in the Diocese of Sheffield I have come to recognise the part sport plays across the region. In this special Olympic and Paralympic year I believe this has become even more clear to many of as we were drawn into the drama of the Games.”
“In hosting a service celebrating sport this offers us all an opportunity to give expression to our thankfulness for sport and those who contribute towards it in whatever capacity and at whatever level.”
