Owls midfielder Chris Lines is hopeful his return to the first team is not too far away having featured in a behind closed doors friendly and for the Owls Under-21s.
His 45 minute outing in a private friendly against Doncaster on Tuesday, which followed an hour for the Under-21s against Barnsley on Saturday, has filled the midfielder with hope that his recovery is almost complete.
He said: “I’m gradually making more and more progress every day. It’s more a case of making sure I’m 100 per cent by the time I get back.
“It went well last Saturday in the Under-21s. It’s the first time I’d been on a pitch in three months; the game on Tuesday was more of a challenge because Doncaster put out a strong side.
“I felt a bit of fatigue and was a bit stiff, but had no problem with my groin - that’s the main thing.
“I’ve been able to run for two or three weeks now; it was just getting back to striking a ball.”
