Helan joins Owls on loan

22 November 2012

The Owls have completed the loan capture of Manchester City starlet Jeremy Helan.

The 20-year-old left back has joined Wednesday on a month-long loan deal from the Premier League Champions.

Helan has been a part of the Manchester City academy for the past three seasons and has established himself as a regular in the City Development Squad.

The youngster made his debut for the Manchester club this season in their 4-2 home defeat to Aston Villa in the Capital One Cup.

The emerging talent has previously spent time away from the Etihad Stadium on loan at League 1 Carlisle United – when he joined the Cumbrians in October 2011.

Helan featured twice for Carlisle during his short stay at Brunton Park and has since gained further experience away from City by joining League 1 side Shrewsbury Town on a temporary basis in October of this season.

After making four appearances for the Shrews, Helan returned to Manchester City and now heads to Hillsborough, where his stay is set to last until 22 December.

Helan has been capped three times at Under-19 level for France, is eligible to feature for the Owls this weekend against Leicester and will wear shirt number 24.
