Team news

Owls: Paul Corry will face a late fitness test ahead of the trip to the Riverside.

The midfielder missed out against Blackpool with an ankle injury and a late call will be made as to the extent of his involvement on Friday.

Elsewhere, boss Dave Jones has no further injury or suspension concerns.

Middlesbrough: Experienced defender Jonathan Woodgate is expected to return to the starting line-up against the Owls.

The ex-England international missed Boro's game at Forest through an on-going hamstring problem on Saturday but could start on Friday.

Tony Mowbray's side head into the fixture in fine form, unbeaten in their last seven games with six of those ending in victory.

View from the dugout

Dave Jones: "The first year at this level was always going to be a learning curve but we still want to be in with a shout. Expectation levels in football are rising all the time and and we'll have to cope with that, just like Middlesbrough"

Boro coach Mark Proctor said: "We're in amongst it and hopefully we can continue how we are doing in the top half of the league. Jonathan (Woodgate) was a little bit stiff and sore from Saturday but hopefully with a bit of recovery time he'll be involved on Friday."
