Sheffield Wednesday have signed defender Taylor McKenzie on a one-year contract.
McKenzie has been a regular for the SWFC Development Squad this season, where the centre back has been featuring on a trial basis.
The 18-year-old has impressed both on the training ground and in the Under-21 division – where he recently helped the Owls keep a clean in the 4-0 win over Leeds on Saturday.
Lee Bullen said: “Taylor has come to us highly rated from Norwich City.
“He is a young player and has a huge amount of potential to grow and develop. We have got him into our set-up nice and early, we will monitor him over the next year and it will be up to him to earn another contract at the end of that.
“For someone of 18, he has a big physical presence on the field, he’s a big lad and someone I feel could progress into having a career.
“He has settled in really well here during his trial spell which is important, but he still has a lot of learning to do.”
