The Owls Under-18s suffered only their second defeat of the season on Saturday losing 2-1 to Leeds at Middlewood Road.
The Whites controlled much of the first half and went one goal to the good from the penalty spot ten minutes into the game.
Leeds continued their good start and went 2-0 ahead on 20 minutes, leaving Wednesday with a mountain to climb at the break.
The Wednesday youngsters came out for the second half with more purpose and created a number of chances without putting the ball in the net.
That was until the 85th minute when promising youngster Jack Stobbs halved the arrears but his goal proved only to be a consolation in what was a below par display from the Under-18s, given their recent performances.
