Frustrated Owls lose out

21 September 2012

The Sheffield Wednesday Development Squad were left frustrated after losing 2-1 to local rivals Huddersfield on Friday.

The Owls under-21s took the lead through Harry Grant after 76 minutes against a strong and experienced Terriers side.

But the hosts got back on level terms late in the game as Jordan Sinnott converted his penalty before Huddersfield took the lead one minute later through Godwin Abadaki.

Development Squad coach Lee Bullen said: “This was our most frustrating performance of the season.

“We had worked so hard to get in front and had never really looked like conceding throughout the game.

“But a couple of decisions went against us and we gave away two goals in the space of two minutes.

“There was no disappointment or anger - just frustration. We showed our inexperience and we have to learn how to close out games.

“It would have been a good scalp for us because Huddersfield had a strong line-up but we will learn from our mistakes and we will get there. We are a Development Squad and that’s what all the lads are doing, developing,”
