Welcome break

7 September 2012

Wednesday boss Dave Jones believes the international break has come at the right time for the Owls.

After making a good start to the new term, taking seven points from the opening four matches and sitting sixth in the table, Jones will be using the break wisely with games coming thick and fast.

The Owls travel to Brighton next Friday, before facing two tough home clashes against Huddersfield and Bolton the following week.

Jones said: “The break has probably come at a good time as everyone can take stock and recharge their batteries.

“We have had a relatively decent start but we have got another seven games to cram in a short space of time when we come back.

“We will be playing three games a week so we have got to make sure we utilise the squad we have got and keep everyone up and running.”

And Jones is hopeful that the break will allow his players who are sidelined with injury extra recovery time to be back in contention for the the trip to the Amex Stadium on Friday.

He added: “They are all receiving treatment from the physio but I would hope they will be okay for Sunday when we will resume training.”
