Remembering the 96

15 April 2013

The annual memorial service commemorating the Hillsborough disaster will take place on Monday 15 April at 3.00pm.

The service will mark the 24th anniversary of the disaster in which 96 men, women and children lost their lives attending the FA Cup semi final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in 1989.

Led by Sheffield Wednesday's club chaplain, Reverend Peter Allen, at the permanent memorial on Parkside Road adjacent to the club's main entrance, the service will include a minute’s silence and prayers for those who died.

Owls chairman Milan Mandaric will lay a wreath of flowers on behalf of the club.

Everyone at Sheffield Wednesday FC would like to express ongoing sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives and the wider Liverpool community affected so deeply by the disaster.
