17 April 2013

Two Sheffield teenagers have been shortlisted for an enterprise award for their design of an SWFC app.

Freddie Cowan and Adam Waterhouse, both aged 14 and from Meadowhead School, were selected as finalists for the BiG Challenge award and will attend Saturday’s game against Ipswich as VIP guests.

The annual competition is open to Sheffield school and college students and involves forming a team, developing a business idea and, with a budget of just £25, making a profit.

In order to enter team ‘Multi-App’ worked hard teaching themselves how to write an application before making it available to the public via the Google store.

Programme Manager at Sheffield City Council Mike Garnock-Jones said: “Multi App from Meadowhead School are clearly digital entrepreneurs in the making.

“Many thanks to SWFC for their prize sponsorship and presentation at our sixth Annual BiG Challenge Awards Evening.”
