The Sheffield Wednesday Under-21s travel to Barnsley to face the Tykes at the Oakwell Academy Complex on Monday (1.00pm).
In the corresponding fixture, the Owls were victorious over their Yorkshire rivals at Middlewood Road, with Caolan Lavery and Josh Windass helping Wednesday secure a 2-0 win.
Development Squad Head Coach Lee Bullen said: “We’re going to give opportunities to one or two of the younger players who haven’t had a taste of Under-21 football and it’s a great opportunity for us to blood them in and let them go out and show us what they’ve got.
“The result is not important, it’s just a case of giving players the chance at that level and seeing what they can do. It’s a fantastic experience for them.
“We’re not going to finish top of the league, and we’re not going to finish bottom. We’ve had a half decent season and overall, I’m really pleased with things so our last game against Barnsley gives the players a chance to go out, enjoy their football and play with a smile on their face.”
