Crossley is back!

13 August 2013

Former international custodian Mark Crossley has joined the Owls’ academy as goalkeeper coach.

Crossley takes up the role with immediate effect.

He represented Wednesday briefly during a career between the sticks that spanned some 25 years, joining the Owls on loan in November 2006 and famously scoring a last-gasp equaliser against Southampton at Hillsborough in a 3-3 draw.

Crossley played almost 500 senior games in total and was an eight-cap Wales international before entering into a coaching career with Chesterfield.

The 44-year-old will work under Head of Goalkeeping Andy Rhodes at Middlewood Road.

Owls academy manager Dean Ramsdale said: “I am delighted that Mark has joined the academy.

“He has a huge amount of experience to bring to the role that will only benefit our young goalkeepers.

“The knowledge that Mark has, aligned to that of Andy Rhodes, puts our goalkeeping coaching department in a significantly strong position.”
