Sheffield Wednesday Under-21s concluded their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win away at Worksop.
The Owls hit the front inside the opening minute when an inch-perfect through ball from Johnny Fenwick was well finished by Caolan Lavery.
The home side equalised on 12 minutes when Chris Salt headed home from Josh Davies’ corner but the Owls regained their lead before the break.
Khalil Lambin was on hand to finish a flowing Wednesday move from close range to give the visitors the advantage, though goalkeeper Cameron Dawson was tested on the stroke of half time but the England Under-19 international was equal to the challenge.
Owls Development Squad coach Lee Bullen said: “We went 1-0 up inside the first minute and credit must go to Johnny for playing a fantastic through ball, which Caolan finished.
“It was disappointing to concede via a set piece but we deserved our second goal after some good build-up play.
“After half time I felt we were more solid and composed in our play. We kept our shape and passed the ball around with quality at times.
“A very professional performance to get a good victory against very decent opposition.”
