Owls’ charity partner

7 December 2013

Sheffield Wednesday will welcome Cavendish Cancer Care to Hillsborough as official charity partner for the Championship clash with Nottingham Forest.

The Sheffield-based charity provides emotional and physical support to cancer patients and their families in South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

They provide a range of complimentary therapies including counselling, reiki, shiatsu, massage, hypnotherapy, reflexology, and art therapy.

There is also a specialist Children’s and Young Person’s facility providing play therapy, counselling and bereavement services.

Cavendish Cancer Care are not an NHS charity and receive only enough funding to keep their doors open for three weeks, relying on the generosity of local people to raise their £500k per annum running costs.

Volunteers from the charity will hold a bucket collection around the ground before kick-off and both SWFC and Cavendish Cancer Care would like to thank everyone in advance for their generosity.
