Under-21s beaten by Blues

2 December 2013

The Owls Under-21s were beaten 3-1 by a strong Birmingham City side on Monday afternoon at the Blues’ Wast Hills training complex.

Khalil Lambin put the Owls ahead in the third minute with a tap in from close range before the hosts responded through experienced striker Peter Lovenkrands in the 17th minute.

Wednesday fell behind two minutes after the restart when Liam Truslove rose high from Scott Allan’s corner to head home.

Cameron Dawson made a fine stop from Darren Ambrose’s free kick just after the hour but the ex-Palace midfielder had a hand in Birmingham’s third goal, finding Lovenkrands in space who put the game to bed with an accomplished finish.
