Smooth transition

5 February 2013

Owls loanee Danny Pugh has told swfc.co.uk of the smooth transition that has taken place following his temporary move to Hillsborough.

Pugh, who has signed on loan with the Owls until the end of the season from Leeds, has enjoyed a winning start to his Wednesday stint.

A 2-1 win over Charlton was swiftly followed by a 3-1 success against Brighton at Hillsborough in which Pugh scored on his home debut for the club.

He said: “I’ve been lucky in the sense that I’ve come into a dressing room full of confidence and a team that is winning and picking up some good results.

“We had a great win at Charlton and followed that up with a win at Hillsborough so it has made the transition a lot easier for me.”

The utility man who can operate in midfield and at left back has been encouraged by the early signs during his temporary spell in Sheffield and is now hoping to play his part in helping the club continue their rise up the Championship.

He added: “It’s obviously a positive that we’re looking up in the table and dragging other teams into it but we have to keep climbing and there is plenty of work to do yet.

“Personally, I thought we played better at Hillsborough than we did at Charlton the week before. At Charlton we were solid but I think we created more chances and were a threat going forward.”
