Sheffield Wednesday defender Anthony Gardner has won the vote to be crowned as the swfc.co.uk Player of the Month for December.
In an extremely close-fought poll, fans’ opinion was split on who shone throughout last month as Wednesday finished December on a high, posting ten points from the last four games.
Former Tottenham man Gardner impressed during the Owls’ good spell in the Championship last month and scooped 20 per cent of the vote to land the award.
Having kept four consecutive clean sheets in December, it’s little surprise that fellow defender Lewis Buxton has attracted plenty of the vote with 15 per cent in second place.
The top three as voted for by Wednesday fans via swfc.co.uk were as follows:
