Sheffield Wednesday have signed midfielder Danny Pugh on loan from Leeds United.
The 30-year-old will remain at Hillsborough until the end of the current campaign.
A versatile performer, Pugh can to play in central midfield, left midfield or at left full back.
The Manchester United youth product came onto the scene at Old Trafford in 2002, making his debut for the Reds in a Champions League clash against Maccabi Haifa.
Pugh made five appearances for the Premiership giants before making the switch to Leeds in May 2004.
After making 57 appearances for the Elland Road club, he joined Preston for £250,000 in June 2006 and established himself as a regular at Deepdale – racking up over 50 appearances before signing for Stoke City on loan in November 2007.
Such was the utility man’s impact at the Britannia – featuring on 30 occasions and helping the Potters win promotion to the Premier League - Pugh’s stay was made permanent in January 2008, with Stoke paying £500,000 for his services.
He made a total of 87 appearances for the Potters – 33 of which came in the Premier League.
Pugh then moved back on loan to Preston in November 2010, making a further five appearances for the Lilywhites before returning to Stoke for the remainder of the 2010/11 campaign.
A loan move to former club Leeds in September 2011 became permanent in January 2012, where Pugh has since featured 41 times.
The Stockport product will wear shirt number 19 during his S6 stint and is eligible for the Owls’ Championship game at Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
