Strong and confident

Wednesday manager Dave Jones believes his side can get a result at Hull this weekend but insists the Owls must be at their best.

Hull are a current occupant of an automatic promotion position but with just one defeat in six, Jones is aiming to build on what has been a positive run of results in the Championship of late.

On the field, Jones is pleased to have options in terms of team selection with only David Prutton (suspended) and Rodri (leg) unavailable.

The Owls boss said: “We’ve been on a good run and have lost one game in six, if we were offered that kind of run, we would have taken it.

“Everybody comes into contention for this game. We played against Rotherham reserves earlier this week, everybody is fit and as I’ve said before, everybody is up for the challenge and fighting for their place.

“There’s only Rodri who is struggling with a knock he picked up in training, he should be back after the weekend but everybody else is fine.

“Hull are having a good go at it, they’re at home and will probably be expecting three points.

“We have to go there and play at our best to get a result. We have to be as strong and as confident as we have been over the last month or so.”

On the January transfer window, Jones has said the club have made enquiries with regards to potential additions to the squad but intimated any deals are likely to be concluded nearer the end of the month.

He explained: “We’ve made enquiries but every club is waiting to see what they can get before letting anybody go and we’re no different.

“Everybody is waiting to see the best prices and that’s why you find most of the business is done later in the window.

“We are trying to make ourselves stronger by helping the people who are here and if that means bringing people in that’s what we’ll try and do.”
