Helan at home

12 July 2013

Jeremy Helan has said he already feels at home with the Owls after signing a four-year deal at Hillsborough on Friday.

The 21-year-old enjoyed two successful loan spells with Wednesday last season and was delighted to commit his long-term future to the club this week.

He told Wednesday Player: “First of all I’m very thankful to Sheffield Wednesday because they showed confidence in me and they believed in me.

“Together, we did good things last season and I always wanted to come back here. It’s a great club with good staff and good players and I really wanted to work with them again.

“This club put me in an environment where I could express myself and when you have played here and you get the chance to come back, you don’t think twice.

“I feel at home.”

The Frenchman told Player he has learned lessons from his first experience in the Championship and is ready to get stuck into the 2013/14 campaign.

He added: “Last year was a tough year but we did the difficult part by staying in the division so now we can look forward and use those experiences.

“It’s up to us now to take this club as high as we can, we learned a lot of lessons and are ready to go again.

“I believe I’ve got the potential to achieve a lot here and now that I’ve signed I’m hoping I can get even better.

“This is a huge club and a four-year deal is a long time so I’m looking forward to being a part of this club moving forward and getting back towards where it once was.”
