Dave Jones and the Owls are looking forward to flying back to England and continuing their pre-season training on home soil.
Wednesday signed off their week-long stay in Portugal with a pedestrian goalless draw against Hull on Saturday and Jones noted the players are feeling the effects of the seven days in Europe.
He said: “There were some tired legs out there and that’s the result of work we have done out here in Portugal.
“We’ve had two sessions a day and the boys have worked really hard. It’s been a long week but they will certainly feel the benefit of training in the climate of Portugal.
“Everything we have done has been worthwhile so we will take the positives.”
More specifically on the Hull game, Jones added:
“We knew it would be a different game to Braga and it was.
“There were hardly any chances throughout and I don’t recall either goalkeeper having any real shots to save.
“The one chance we did create we should have scored. We have to clinical but show patience in other areas of the pitch.
“But we’ll get there because that is what pre-season is all about.”
