Dave Jones is looking forward to Saturday night’s friendly with Hull as the Owls embark on the final leg of their pre-season European tour.
The Tigers provide the opposition in Albufeira (8.00pm) and the Wednesday manager is expecting a converse test to that of Braga last Tuesday.
The SWFC contingent fly back to England on Sunday morning.
Jones told swfc.co.uk: “It will be a different game and more of an English game if you like.
“European teams play a different style of football to teams back home and that’s why it was a good test for us to play Braga.
“The result didn’t matter and it won’t matter tonight either because the most important thing is increasing the fitness of the players and get them back into game mode mentally and tactically.”
That sentiment is echoed by midfielder David Prutton who, like the manager, is expecting a more familiar game against Hull.
He added: “It will be more of a stereotypical game because you have two English teams playing each other so we will both know what to expect.
“It was good to play Braga because they play the kind of game that we don’t see at home.
“We know all about Hull and how they play but for the players – of both teams – this is all about getting as match fit as possible for the game that really matters, against QPR on 3 August.”
*Everyone at Sheffield Wednesday was distressed to learn of the tragic passing of lifelong Wednesdayite Kevin Wright this week.
Kevin passed away suddenly whilst following his beloved Owls in Portugal.
The club would like to extend their deepest sympathies to Kevin’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
RIP.
