Ready for action - Braga

16 July 2013

It’s back to action for the Owls on Tuesday as they face Portugal side Braga in their first of two games across Europe during their week-long training camp.

Wednesday take on Premiership outfit Hull on Saturday but before then, Braga provide the opposition for Dave Jones’ side.

The match kicks off at 8.00pm at the Estádio Municipal de Albufeira and tickets, priced ten Euros, are available in person at the ground today or on the turnstiles.

For Portugese midfielder Jose Semedo, the contest is a perfect platform to get back on the pitch and lock horns against a side with whom he is more than familiar.

He said: “Braga are a very good side, one of the best in Portugal, and this will be a really good test for us.

“I am looking forward to hopefully getting some time on the pitch playing against a team that know how to keep the ball.

“We will have to work hard to get the ball back. The tempo will be very different and can be nice to watch but I prefer the English game where the tempo is much quicker.”

Upfield in the final third, Gary Madine is also out to get some valuable playing time under the belt in the friendly clash.

And, in an ideal world, find the target against the talented Primeira Liga outfit.

He said: “It will be nice to play a game after the hard work we have done in training in the heat.

“It’s great for the fitness and gives you a solid base. Obviously I want to play a part and get a goal that will be good for the confidence because Braga are a very capable team.”
