New signing Atdhe Nuhiu could be thrust straight into action when the Owls play their final friendly of pre-season against Chesterfield on Saturday.
Manager Dave Jones is considering his options for the Spireites clash, which takes place at The Proact Stadium (3.00pm).
Jones said: “This is another good game for us and Atdhe could play. We know what we will be doing on the day and we’re looking forward to getting another 90 minutes under the belt.
“The important thing is to come through injury-free and the staff have done really well because we’ve only had one injury and that was impact – there’s nothing you can do about that.
“This is our last game before the season starts at QPR and we are in good shape.”
Saturday will give Owls fans their first opportunity to see Nuhui, who checked in at Hillsborough on Friday.
And Jones has spoken of his delight having signed the giant targetman on a free transfer.
He said: “There were quite a few clubs interested.
“We have been tracking him for two or three months; we’ve had him watched, and I went to see him play for Palace last Tuesday.
“We’re really chuffed to bits that we’ve got him and he has decided his future lies here. He wants to learn and do well. He’s big and strong and has good feet.”
