Back in action!

26 June 2013

The countdown to the new campaign started in earnest last week with the release of the fixtures for 2013/14 - and the Owls commence their pre-season preparations this Thursday.

The SWFC squad returns to duty to begin their training regime and the Wednesday Player cameras will be in attendance to cover the action at Middlewood Road.

Player will have the latest news and views from manager Dave Jones plus exclusive interviews with the players and staff following the summer break.

Pre-season then cranks up with two friendly fixtures inside four days. First up is Stockport v Wednesday at Edgeley Park in a testimonial for ex-Owl Rodger Wylde on Tuesday 9 July before the Owls take the short hop to Scunthorpe on Saturday 13.

Wednesday fly out to Portugal 24 hours later for their annual pre-season tour that incorporates two friendly encounters in the European sun.

Portugese top-flight side Braga provide the opposition at the Estádio Municipal de Albufeira on Tuesday 16 July, then the Owls take on newly-promoted Premiership side Hull at the same venue on Saturday 20.

Wednesday Player is the ONLY place to access highlights from both games, in addition to the pre-match build-up and post-match reaction.

It’s back to base for Dave Jones’ men on Wednesday 24 July as the Owls host Scottish giants Rangers in a prestigious friendly at Hillsborough, which is the club’s only pre-season contest on home soil.

SWFC wrap up their summer schedule with a trip to Chesterfield the following Saturday.

Wednesday Player will be following the team every step of the way in pre-season, bringing Owls fans extensive, exclusive and unrivalled access behind the scenes – from just 10p a day!

The Owls, of course, go head to head against QPR for their Championship opener on Saturday 3 August and with the game already set for a sell-out, Player is the next best place to be with full and exclusive online commentary.
