Today’s classic game comes from the 1984/85 season when the Owls overcame Fulham 3-2 in the third round of the FA Cup at Craven Cottage.
Wednesday went behind early in the game when Ray Houghton scored for the home side but Mel Sterland levelled for the Owls on the half hour mark.
Lee Chapman put Wednesday ahead before the break but Fulham responded shortly after the interval with Houghton claiming his second goal of the afternoon in the entertaining cup clash.
But with five minutes of the game to play, Chapman popped up with the winner for Wednesday, heading home from an Andy Blair centre to book the Owls’ place in the next round.
