Sheffield Wednesday first team coach Stuart Gray has joined the Owls’ backroom staff on a permanent basis.
Gray initially linked up with Dave Jones’ side in December 2012 on a temporary deal until the end of the 2012/13 campaign.
The ex-Aston Villa and Crystal Palace coach played his part behind the scenes last term as Wednesday secured a second successive season in the Championship.
With a wealth of experience under the belt having enjoyed a coaching career spanning almost two decades, the former Northampton Town manager will remain in post in S6 as the Owls step up their preparations for next season.
Gray said: “This is a wonderful club and I have really enjoyed the role in the short time I have had at the club so far.
“I got the call from the manager last December to see if I could help out and I was delighted to do so.
“Sometimes another voice, a new voice, can have the desired effect and we have a great bunch of players who listen and respond to what the staff have to say.
“It’s all about the future now and everyone is back for pre-season training. The plans have been in place for some time, with everything geared towards 3 August in the Championship against QPR.”
