Michail Antonio has said the Owls are heading into Saturday’s game against Leicester full of confidence and belief.
Despite back-to-back defeats against Nottingham Forest and Watford, Antonio has seen plenty of positives to take and build on from those recent encounters.
The Foxes will be out to strengthen their grip on a play-off spot but their lofty league position has taken a hit in recent weeks with just one win in six.
Antonio said: “We fancy our chances in every game we go into. Any ground, any team, I always believe we can go and get something, whether it be one point or three.
“We’ve got the players here who can deliver that so why not believe?
“There’s definitely plenty to build on from our last two games.
“We played Forest who are one of the form teams in this division and Watford who are second in the league and in both games, we didn’t play badly.”
One aspect that has pleased Antonio this season has been his form in front of goal.
His strike against Watford in midweek moved the forward’s tally to nine for the season and the ex-Reading man is keen to keep his goal count ticking over.
“I want to get into double figures," he said. "There are still another 11 league games to go so hopefully I will go on to achieve that.
“Having scored nine goals and got nine assists in my first full season in the Championship I can be pleased with that but the main thing is that we all push on and manage to stay in this league.
“With me it’s case of, if I don’t succeed I will try and try again until I do.
“I always think; they’re not going to get the ball off me every time and that’s what I believe.
“If they get the ball off me once, I always think I’m going to beat them the next time and if he gets me again, I will beat him the next time.
“I’ll just keep trying and trying and that’s what we all must do.”
