The Sheffield Wednesday Under-21s triumphed 2-1 against Wigan at the DW Stadium on Monday night.
A first half brace from Emmanuel Dieseruvwe did the damage as Lee Bullen’s side posted a deserved victory.
The Owls opened the scoring on 35 minutes through Dieseruvwe before the hosts hit back four minutes later, with Rakish Bingham on the scoresheet.
But three minutes before the break, Dieseruvwe grabbed his second goal of the game to seal a deserved three points for the visitors.
