Football v Homophobia

22 March 2013

Sheffield Wednesday have pledged support to an international campaign tackling homophobia.

The Football v Homophobia movement aims to unite fans, players, communities, grassroots teams and professional clubs in opposing prejudice against LGB&T (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) people in the game.

Wednesday are very to support the campaign which enables people to take action against prejudice and discrimination based on sexuality or gender identity in football by providing support, communication materials, education and training for the cause.

As part of the pledge of support, the club will be spreading awareness through the website and the matchday programme as well as ensuring the anti-homophobia message forms a key part of the community programme’s education framework.

As with all forms of abuse or anti-social behaviour, Sheffield Wednesday encourage fans to report any incidents taking place in the stand. If you hear anything that you believe qualifies as abusive behaviour, please contact our confidential report line on matchdays – text 07963 138580, telling us which stand and row you are seated in.
