Double coup for Lewis

7 May 2013

Owls defender Lewis Buxton did the double in this season’s Player of the Year vote, scooping both the swfc.co.uk and the Owls Foundation end of season awards.

Fans voted in their numbers for the 29-year-old via the Owls’ official website and the defender was crowned as the swfc.co.uk Player of the Year last week.

After a solid season for the former Stoke man, Buxton was also voted as the Owls Foundation Player of the Year and collected both gongs before kick off on Saturday.

Buxton featured 44 times for Wednesday this season and played his part on Saturday as the Owls overcame Middlesbrough at Hillsborough to secure Championship football for 2013/14.
