Make it better

28 May 2013

The Children’s Hospital Charity are hosting their largest fundraising event to date on Friday 28 June - and are encouraging Owls fans to take part and help raise money.

The ‘Make It Better’ Day aims to raise significant funds to help make the lives of the children, and their visiting relatives, more comfortable whilst ensuring the best care possible during their stay in Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Whether it’s a sponsored fun-run or a school bake sale, the Sheffield-based charity are asking fundraisers to organise their own events on the day in order to help fund the improvement of the hospital’s facilities.

The large majority of the wards were built in the 1960s and are becoming increasingly outdated. Consequently, with a little extra help from fundraisers, the hospital will be able to upgrade their facilities and acquire the best equipment available.

For example, just £8 will help decorate the new sensory garden with colourful plants, £50 could help improve the indoor play areas, and £1,000 would fund an adult bed, allowing parents to be close to their children while visiting the hospital.

To help ‘Make It Better’, contact the Children’s Hospital Charity on 0114 2717203 or email support@tchc.org.uk.
