Reda the writer!

22 May 2013

After a successful 2012/13 season, the Greenhill Junior Under-10s were surprised to receive acknowledgement of their accomplishments from Owls star Reda Johnson.

The rising Greenhill stars were delighted to have each received a signed letter from Johnson, who praised the players on their league and cup success, and offered words of wisdom to the promising talents.

Johnson wrote: “After hearing of your success this season in both the Sheffield and District Junior League ‘A Division’ and the Cup, I thought I’d write and congratulate you all.

“What you have accomplished is a fantastic achievement – you should all be very proud!”

In addition to being crowned league champions, Greenhill won the Sheffield & District Junior Sunday League Under -10s Cup after beating the Sheffield Wednesday Young Owls on penalties.

Johnson added: “Being involved in a community club like Greenhill is also something to be proud of. These teams are so important in shaping the footballers of the future and who knows it may lead to some of you wearing an Owls shirt one day!”

Greenhill coach Rob Bailey was thrilled with Johnson’s words of encouragement, stating:

“On behalf of all the boys, I would like to say a big thank you to Reda.

“The lads really appreciated receiving the letters and each one read Reda’s words very carefully.”
