Swfc.co.uk today kicks off a new weekly feature titled ‘On This Day’ which takes a walk down memory lane in S6.
Rewind exactly nine years ago to Saturday 27 November 2004 and the first ‘On This Day’ feature comes from Ashton Gate during the 2004/05 campaign.
The Owls travelled to face Bristol City – promotion rivals in League 1 – and emerged with an impressive 4-1 win.
A brace from Adam Proudlock sent the Owls on their way to victory over the Robins, and goals from Chris Brunt and Patrick Collins helped seal a comprehensive win.
The Owls finished fifth in League 1 and of course went all the way in the play-offs to secure promotion to the Championship.
Bristol City agonisingly missed out on a top six spot finishing one point shy of Hartlepool in sixth position.
